The Shelly Flood S Gen4 is a compact, battery-powered water leak sensor designed to detect leaks under appliances, beside pipework and in other hard-to-reach places. Three large stainless-steel contact pads on its base detect water, including clean or low-conductivity water such as air-conditioning condensate. At just 23mm high, it fits neatly beneath washing machines, dishwashers and furniture without an external sensor cable.
Connect directly to your WiFi network or use Zigbee with a compatible hub. Matter-over-WiFi support makes it easy to integrate into a compatible smart home system, while Bluetooth helps with setup. Receive remote notifications through your connected platform and use the built-in buzzer for a local warning when water is detected.

Place the sensor on a flat surface beneath a sink, next to a water heater or under an appliance. Its broad contact pads help detect small amounts of water at the point where they collect. The sensor checks for changes in flood status every five seconds, balancing responsive detection with battery life.
Flood Detection mode reports water and activates the configured alarm. Choose Intense or Normal for audible warnings, or Economic to disable the buzzer while retaining reporting. Rain Detection mode reports wet and dry state changes without a flood alarm, allowing a compatible automation system to respond to rainfall. An adjustable state hold time of up to 60 seconds can help reduce false alarms in humid conditions.
Use WiFi for direct connection to Shelly Smart Control without a dedicated Shelly hub, or switch to Zigbee for integration with a compatible Zigbee hub. Matter operates over WiFi and requires a compatible Matter controller. These are selectable connection modes; Matter and Zigbee are not used simultaneously. Local actions and integrations can work without cloud access, while remote notifications require the appropriate connected service.
Pair a leak event with other compatible devices to switch off an appliance or close a smart water valve. The required relay, valve and automation configuration are separate from the sensor.
The included CR123A battery provides approximately two years of operation, depending on usage, network signal and alarm activity. Its slim white housing has IP67 protection and needs no power cable. When replacing the battery, refit the O-ring correctly to maintain the seal.
