The Shelly Camera is a compact indoor Wi-Fi camera with Full HD video, night vision and two-way audio. Its white finish and adjustable magnetic base make it easy to position on a shelf, wall or ceiling, helping you keep an eye on a room, entrance or workspace through the Shelly Smart Control app.
Connect directly to your 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi network and choose how your footage is stored. Record locally to a microSD card, use optional EU-based Shelly cloud storage, or integrate the camera with a compatible local recording system. Built-in motion detection, configurable zones and privacy controls let you tailor monitoring to the way you use your space.

Full HD video captures the detail you need when checking a room, while night vision provides a black-and-white image in darkness. A 110° horizontal and 70° vertical field of view gives you a broad view from a compact camera. Open the live view in Shelly Smart Control to check on pets, see whether someone has arrived or look over an indoor workspace while you are away.
The integrated microphone and speaker let you listen and speak through the camera. This makes it useful for more than viewing video: you can speak to someone in the room or reassure a pet without needing a separate audio device.
The camera analyses its video for movement and supports up to 10 motion/privacy zones. Define the areas you want to monitor and use motion-triggered recording to capture activity automatically, or start and stop a recording manually. Notifications in Shelly Smart Control help you check what happened without watching the live feed continuously.
Optional cloud-based AI object recognition adds another level of monitoring through Shelly's cloud services. This is separate from the camera's basic motion detection and is offered through paid cloud services; it should not be confused with AI running locally on the camera.
For local recordings, fit a FAT32-formatted microSD card with a capacity of up to 512GB. The card is sold separately and must be inserted or removed with the camera powered off. Footage can be downloaded as MP4 files through the camera's local web interface, making it straightforward to keep a copy of an event.
EU-based Shelly cloud storage is available as an optional paid service. Shelly Cloud Premium includes storage for one selected camera, while separate Camera Storage plans are available for multiple cameras. A cloud subscription is not required to use a microSD card for local recording. Available cloud features and storage allowances depend on the plan selected.
Blackout zones let you keep selected parts of the image out of view. When you want the camera to stop monitoring altogether, Privacy Mode disables video recording, the microphone and the speaker. The physical switch on the rear powers the camera off completely, stopping streaming, recording and network activity.
These options make it practical to monitor a room when you are away and turn monitoring off when you return. You can keep the camera positioned and ready without needing to unplug and remount it each time.
Place the camera on its integrated stand, attach its magnetic base to a suitable metal surface, or use the included adhesive mounting plate for wall or ceiling installation. The viewing angle adjusts manually through up to 180° of pan and 90° of tilt. This is a manually positioned camera, rather than a motorised pan-and-tilt model.
The camera requires a 5V DC, 1A power source and connects through USB-C. A 2m USB-C to USB-C cable is included. Position it within reach of a suitable USB-C power supply and a reliable Wi-Fi signal. The camera is designed for indoor use only.
Use Shelly Smart Control for everyday access, or the built-in web interface for direct local control. RTSP support allows streaming to compatible NVR systems and integrations such as Home Assistant and Frigate, while WebRTC supports peer-to-peer live viewing.
For more advanced installations, MQTT, WebSocket, scripting, schedules and webhooks provide options for custom automations. Local AI processing can be provided by compatible external software and hardware, such as a separately configured Frigate system; that processing is not performed by the camera itself. This gives you room to start with straightforward app-based monitoring and build a more customised setup later.
